TC’s shrinks the Polytune
TC Electronic has announced two even smaller versions of its Polytune pedal tuners – as far as we can make out from a rather brief press release, essentially the same unit, the Polytune 3 Mini, but in white or ‘Noir’ versions.
In addition to offering full polyphonic, chromatic and strobe tuning methods, the new models also include a ‘Bonafide Buffer’ designed to maintain tonal integrity through long cables and on large pedal boards. The pedals offer a 1 MΩ input, 100 Ω output and high >112 dB signal to noise ratio with switchable true bypass/buffer modes to optimise signal integrity.
Two small dipswitches on the side make it easy to switch between True or Buffered Bypass and there is a new always-on mode, ‘letting you try out which setting works best for your setup,’ TC says, adding: ‘A wealth of different tuning modes lets you tune down or use a capo, while holding the footswitch down switches to drop-D mode in 2 seconds’.
No UK price was quoted.
