Cutlass Guitar Designed by Leo?

How much of a hand did Leo Fender have in designing the shape of the modern Cutlass guitar, setting aside its similarity with the Stratocaster shape? Did he come up with the shape of the Cutlass from the mid-1970s? I’m hoping someone who knows the history can clarify or shed some light on this.
