First Royal College of Music Yamaha Clarinet Prize Winner announced

Yamaha music UK has announced that Lewis Graham is the winner of the 2018 Royal College of Music Yamaha Clarinet Prize.

This year’s inaugural prize was open to RCM students who were completing their second year of a Bachelor of Music Degree, the entrants must have been awarded a Distinction their first year recitals.

The Head of Woodwind at the Royal College of Music, Simon Channing said: ‘We are so grateful to Yamaha for their generous sponsorship and for their support of the RCM Woodwind Faculty. This support comes just a month after Yamaha generously put on an absolutely fascinating class at the College demonstrating the physics acoustics and of sound production on the clarinet.’

Yamaha’s Jeremy Smith said: ‘We are delighted to have partnered the Royal College of Music for this annual Yamaha Clarinet prize. We look forward to continue this partnership and support these talented individuals.’
