Stingray polepiece buzz

Recently installed Aguilar MM4 pickup in my Stingray bass.
Pickup sounds great but when I’m touching pole pieces while not touching strings, I get a loud buzz. When I touch strings the buzz disappears. There is also electric “click” sound when I touch strings or metal parts.
What could be the problem?
