Question: What strings can I use on the Valentine?

Hi, I’m going to purchase a Valentine in the next couple of weeks and have one small concern, It looks like its strung with 11s, I’m used to playing (on a Strat) with Super Slinkys (9s) I’m a little concerned the 11s would be to heavy for my decrepit fingers, so a few questions; could I change it to 9s? Will it take them ok or is it really not suited to them? ? And if it does take them ok then would I need to change any other setup if I put 9s on?
