Gibson Records will focus on helping artists produce and deliver “guitar-centric music, across genres” to listeners around the world. According to Cesar Gueikian, Brand President at Gibson, the expansion into records felt like a “natural evolution” for the historic guitar brand.
“Gibson Records will work with Gibson artists to capture, record and promote their music under an artist friendly partnership,” he said in a statement. “[It] will keep all of [us] focused on our artist first culture that is engaged and connected to music.”
“It’s an honour to be the first release on the new Gibson Records,” Slash added. “It’s a zenith in our partnership for sure and having worked so closely with Gibson for so long, I know they will be a label that genuinely supports [artists] creatively. Not just me, but all the artists they choose to work with. It’s perfect.”
Slash’s new album, the follow-up to 2018’s Living The Dream will be released through a strategic partnership between Gibson Records and BMG. Further details on the album and when it will be released have yet to be announced.
Gibson Records will be headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, where the brand also recently opened its massive downtown store, the Gibson Garage.
