D’Addario’s Auto Lock Strap gets a new twist, literally

D’Addario has launched a brand new strap, giving its Auto Lock technology an inventive twist – a swivel feature.
The new Auto Lock Swivel Strap is described as “the surest way to keep guitars secure and straps straight”, and is built atop its already successful Auto Lock, a clip-on strap locking system available on a number of its existing straps. The Auto lock Swivel is designed specifically for guitars with rear-facing strap buttons.

The concept for this nifty offering was brought to life by none other than Joe Satriani and inventor Ned Steinberger. Steinberger first designed the Auto Lock, and Satriani formulated the addition of the swivel feature.
The Auto Lock Swivel rotates as the strap is pulled in different directions, so it stays straight and comfortable for the player, and its auto lock protects it from falling off. It’s made with polypropylene material (this is not padded), has a 2” width, and a length of 35.5” – 59.5”.
Of the launch, D’Addario says, “Many guitarists own an instrument with a strap button located on the back of the body. While this can be a cool feature, it can also be a challenge for standard straps.
“The rear-facing strap button leads to twisting, which makes it uncomfortable to wear and may cause the strap end to stretch, creating a risk that the guitar may fall off. D’Addario’s new Auto Lock Swivel eliminates this issue completely.”

The Auto Lock Swivel Strap is available now for £21.50 directly via D’Addario. If the Swivel isn’t your thing, you can shop its full range of Auto Lock straps instead.
