These limited 10th anniversary Boss Katanas look so cool they might make me switch back from in-the-box amp sims
Has it been 10 years already since Boss launched the Katana series?
First unveiled in 2016, the Katana range is equipped with Boss’s Tube Logic sound design, which recreates the sound and responsiveness of classic tube amps in a digital solid-state design. Their pro-quality sound and power combined with ultra-affordable price tags are to thank for the fact the series has sold over 1.5 million units in the past 10 years. The lineup is currently in its third generation, which arrived in 2024.
And now, a decade after the series first landed, Boss is celebrating in style with a limited-edition drop of 10th Anniversary Katanas – outfitted in stunning blue flame maple cabinetry.

Available exclusively at Roland’s flagship stores in New York City, London and Tokyo, the lineup comprises special anniversary versions of the Katana Artist Gen 3, Katana Artist Head Gen 3, and Katana Cabinet 212 Waza, all trading their distinctive all-black colourways for a luxurious high-gloss blue.

They command slightly higher price tags than their regular-line counterparts with the Artist Gen 3 clocking in at £1,100, the Artist Head Gen 3 at £846, and the Cabinet 212 Waza also at £846.
The changes on these limited 10th Anniversary amps are purely aesthetic, and they otherwise feature the same spec sheets as the regular-line Katanas, including tube-like responsiveness, multiple onboard amp models, a suite of onboard effects, the ability to recall tone settings and loads more.
