An unheard post-Beatles Ringo Starr & Paul McCartney cassette is set to be auctioned

A previously unheard demo entitled Angel in Disguise, thought to be the only song written by Ringo Starr and Paul McCartney after the Beatles split, is to be auctioned off.
The cassette tape recording contains both a rough version of the track, with Paul McCartney singing over piano and a drum machine as well as a full studio version with vocals sung by Ringo Starr, a full backing track, backing singers and increased instrumentation. It’s expected to fetch between £10,000 and £20,000. The track was initially intended to feature on Ringo’s 1992 solo record Time Takes Time, but for one reason or another it didn’t make the tracklist.
The auction is being held by Omega Auctions, as part of a larger auction of items owned by radio DJ Tony Prince. Prince came into its possession after he was asked to source artists to record the song, following its rejection by Ringo. Other items include the envelope the cassette was posted to Prince in, as well as sheet music and lyrics for the track. There’s even the letter asking Prince to find artists to record a “pop / rap” version of the song.

Omega Auctions’ Paul Fairweather said of the item: “It’s fantastic to be able to bring to the market a previously unheard and unreleased track. We think the track certainly had enough about it to be included in the album and I am sure if Paul was to release this himself it would certainly prove a hit with fans.”
The entire auction features memorabilia and records from other artists such as ABBA, Marc Almond and Black Sabbath. 25% of proceeds from the auction will be donated to the NHS Charities Together COVID-19 Urgent Appeal.
