Balaguer Guitars’ Espada T-Bar is an evolved offset baritone axe
Balaguer Guitars has released the Espada T-Bar, a signature model for The Word Alive’s guitarist Tony Pizzuti. Described as an evolved “offset baritone”, this guitar arrives with features tuned to the metalcore exponent’s preferences.
Balaguer designed this new axe with The Word Alive’s preference for lower tunings in mind. The model features a longer scale length of 26.5 inches, which is said to have the same feel as a 25.5-inch variant but has an extra inch to better handle the string tensions of lower tunings. The neck itself is crafted from Hard Rock maple, and sits below an ebony fingerboard with cream block inlays.
In the tone department, the Espada T-Bar boasts a pair of high-output Truenobucker humbuckers. These are wired to a master volume knob, master tone knob – with push/pull coil-splitting capabilities – and a three-way pickup selector.
Wrapping up the guitar’s aesthetics are gold-coloured components, including the pickguard, hardware as well as a Hipshot hardtail bridge.
Pre-orders at $1,199. More info at balaguerguitars.com.
