Faith Guitars launches the Venus Blue Moon
NAMM 2021: Faith Guitars has launched a new addition to its celestially-named Blue Moon Series: the Venus Blue Moon.
The acoustic guitar joins 2019’s Neptune Blue Moon. That guitar was a Baby-Jumbo model, whereas the Venus Blue moon is Faith’s OM Cutaway / Auditorium shape. This means a slightly slimmer body shape in comparison to the Neptune Blue Moon.
Due to this, the sound focuses less on bass frequencies and more on midrange. Construction consists of solid figured Java mango for the top, back and sides as well as flamed maple binding, Macassan figured ebony fittings, and a mahogany neck with a macassan Figured Ebony fingerboard. The guitar’s gloss finish comes in, of course, the deep blue that gives the series its name
While mango wood is not particularly common among guitars, it’s also used in the construction of the Faith Neptune Blue moon, and Faith notes its overtone-damping qualities, making the Venus particularly resistant to feedback.
The guitar’s electronics come in the form of a low-profile Fishman INK3 preamp system with Sonicore under-saddle piezo pickup. The preamp features a chromatic tuner, a three-band EQ and volume control.
The guitar lists for £1,029. Find out more at faithguitars.com.
