Fender teams with Hypebeast on limited-edition navy Stratocaster
Fender has teamed with Hypebeast on a limited-edition Stratocaster themed in the streetwear media brand’s signature navy colour.
The Hypebeast X Fender Stratocaster is based on a Made in Japan Stratocaster, and features an alder body and a maple neck with a U-shaped profile and 22 medium jumbo frets.
The gloss finish extends from the guitar’s body all the way to the headstock and is contrasted against chrome hardware for a sleek look. There’s also a commemorative neck plate engraved with the logos of both brands.
The guitar offers three vintage-style single-coil Strat pickups, which route to a familiar control section consisting of a master volume, two tone controls and a five-position blade switch. Take a look at the announcement video for the Hypebeast X Fender Stratocaster below.
Edward Cole, Fender President of APAC, spoke of the iconic guitar brands partnership with the influential media brand Hypebeast, “Fender has always been closely connected to musical culture since its founding in 1946.”
“Through this collaboration, we’re looking forward to bringing music closer to other cultural realms, as we share a passion for music amongst a generation immersed in fashion and lifestyle”.
With only 24 units making up an exclusive first run, the Hypebeast X Fender Stratocaster is already sold out on hbx.com where it was priced at $1,680. If you’re eyeing up this electric, keep your eyes peeled on the used market, but be warned, as with all collectible fashion merchandise, it’s likely to command a much larger price tag.
