Fredric Effects’ new Regent 150 brings vintage Soviet sounds to modern ’boards
The stated mission of British boutique effects brand Frederic Effects is to unearth unusual and under-appreciated vintage circuits and bring them back to life for modern audiences, and the company’s latest box heads back to Communist-era East Germany for its inspiration.
The Regent 150 is a preamp pedal that adopts the preamp and EQ stage of the Vermona Regent 150K amplifier – a 12-watt solid-state combo that was a staple of Eastern Bloc stages, studios and practice rooms.
Recreated with some modern refinements, the three-knob pedal can be used as either an EQ, boost, or an always-on tone enhancer.
The Regent 150 is priced at £150, for more information visit fredric.co.uk
