Gibson announces the Les Paul Deluxe 70s reissue
Gibson has unveiled the Les Paul Deluxe 70s, a reissue with a non-chambered body, mini-humbuckers and other period-accurate features.

The Les Paul Deluxe 70s sports a mahogany body and neck, as well as an Indian rosewood fingerboard. Its neck has a C-shaped neck profile, 22 medium-jumbo frets and acrylic trapezoid inlays.
The guitar also has a pair of mini-humbuckers, which is one of the defining features of the 70s Les Paul Deluxe models. These are generally considered to be brighter in tone as compared to their full-sized counterparts.
The pickups route to hand-wired control assemblies with matched potentiometers and Orange Drop capacitors. Other notable hardware appointments included a Graph Tech NuBone nut, vintage keystone tuners and a Tune-O-Matic bridge and stop bar.
The Les Paul 70s Deluxe comes in two nitrocellulose finishes, Cherry Sunburst or Gold Top, with a price tag of $2,899. It ships with its own hard case, too.
Earlier this March, Gibson announced its first guitars from the Murphy Lab, a division of its custom shop dedicated to premium, artificially aged vintage-reissued instruments. The Murphy Lab Collection was described by the brand as a “greatest hits album” of Custom Shop reissues and includes a total of 50 models.
