Joe Bonamassa teases Fender Custom Shop versions of his vintage ’51 Nocaster
Joe Bonamassa has revealed that Fender Custom Shop reproductions of his ‘51 Nocaster are coming soon.

The blues ace broke the news on Instagram yesterday (21 March). In his post, he shared an image of a Certificate Of Authenticity for “The Bludgeon”, which was described in the document as a “Recreation of Joe Bonamassa’s 1951 Nocaster”.
Bonamassa also suggested that the reproduction will feature pickups made by Seymour Duncan, likely as a replacement for the Gibson PAF humbucker in the original vintage model’s neck position.
“Here we go kids,” he wrote. “The first few are coming off the line. @fendercustomshop @seymourduncanpickups”

The reproductions of Bonamassa’s ‘51 Nocaster have been a long time coming. He first hinted at the project back in 2019, in a series of social media posts showing the original being dropped off at the Fender Custom Shop.
Bonamassa also discussed the instrument during his appearance on Guitar.com Live last year. In his segment on his most prized guitar treasures, Bonamassa revealed he bought the vintage Nocaster at the Guitar Center in Hollywood after several “decision-helping Margaritas”.
