John Prine to be honoured with a live stream tribute show

Late singer-songwriter John Prine will be honoured with a tribute live stream event, put together by his family and Oh Boy Records.
The event, taking place on 11 June, will see “musicians, actors, and friends remembering our beloved JP,” and be streamed via Prine’s official YouTube and Facebook pages. The list of performers and contributors is yet to be revealed.
The stream will also be in aid of charities including NAM, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, and Alive, which is currently providing free counselling sessions to anyone in central Tennessee who has lost a family member to COVID-19.
The news comes alongside the announcement of All The Best Fest’s postponement until 2021, due to coronavirus. John Prine’s widow, Fiona Prine, said of the delay: “We look forward to being with you all to remember and celebrate your friend and our beloved husband, dad, and grandpa. Please keep yourselves safe and healthy until then. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your kind messages – they really help.”
Prine, who curated All The Best Fest’s lineup, passed away on 7 April due to complications related to COVID-19.
The live stream will be broadcast here. For more music news, click here.
