King Gizzard are back with groovy new microtonal tune, Honey
King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard have released a new song titled Honey, the band’s first music of 2020. The grooving track, which once again features the Australian psych-rockers’ signature use of microtonal elements, was launched alongside a music video. Take a look below.
Frontman Stu Mackenzie took to Twitter to share a brief statement on Honey, writing: “Shot at sunset during the apocalypse with a reeeeeeal long lens. I wrote this song a couple of years ago. It’s nice to have it out in the world”
King Gizzard’s last two studio albums, Fishing For Fishies and Infest The Rats’ Nest both came out in 2019. In 2020, they’ve so far released three live albums over Bandcamp to benefit Australian bushfire relief efforts, as well as Chunky Shrapnel, a feature-length concert film.
Last month also saw the band release a special series of environmentally conscious vinyl reissues, printed on “eco-wax” for the global #LOVERECORDSTORES campaign.
