Listen: Pink Floyd’s growing Spotify playlist of classics, deep cuts and rarities

Pink Floyd have launched ‘Syd, Roger, Richard, Nick and David’, an “evolving playlist” of classic Pink Floyd tracks, deep cuts and “currently unavailable” rarities from the band’s Immersion box sets.
Available as a playlist on either Spotify or YouTube, the curated series of tracks kicked off last Friday (22 May). The first Immersion rarity supplied is a live version of Us and Them from 1974, recorded at the Empire Pool in London. Take a listen above.
In the band’s Facebook post launching the playlist, it was revealed that the band are building the playlist as a means for fans to reconnect with Pink Floyd’s music amid “this period of lockdown, isolation and uncertainty.”
“From the best known classics, to deeper album tracks, you’ll find each day’s new track at the top of the playlist,” they wrote. “As a bonus, each Friday we will be adding one of the currently unavailable bonus tracks that were featured in the Immersion box sets a few years back.”

Upcoming additions to the playlist will include an alternate cut of Have a Cigar, off of Wish You Were Herei, a live version of Any Color You Like – which was also recorded from the 1974 Empire Pool show – a demo of Run Like Hell from The Wall and an early mix of Money, from Dark Side of the Moon.
In other Pink Floyd news, Roger Waters shared a video update last week (19 May) in regards to his longstanding dispute with guitarist David Gilmour. Waters noted that he had tried to instigate peace talks within the band last year but “it bore no fruit”.
