Listen: Steel Panther pen a poignant elegy to this year, Fuck 2020

Harnessing the full breadth of music and poetry to sum up their feelings on this year, comedy glam metal outfit Steel Panther have penned a new single, a poignant elegy titled Fuck 2020.
The tune makes specific references to several low points of the year, including, but not limited to: the COVID-19 pandemic, the passing of guitar legend Eddie Van Halen and the widespread cancellation of in-person gigs around the world. Take a listen to the tune above.
Like many other artists, Steel Panther this year have relied on live streaming as a means to continue performing to fans amid the coronavirus pandemic.

However, a stay-home order announced by the Los Angeles government on Thursday (3 December) meant the group had to reschedule their latest livestream Gobblefest, initially planned for Saturday (5 December).
The event is now being rescheduled for a later date. All ticket-purchasers will be able to redeem a free digital download of Fuck 2020. The band have addressed the event postponement in a statement on YouTube.
“This year has been fucking tough on everyone. We were excited to hang with you all at Gobblefest this weekend and hopefully have some laughs, but COVID has other plans for us,” wrote Steel Panther.
“We hope you enjoy the new song in the meantime. It has become an anthem for the band – and not just because we wrote it. Please join us in telling 2020 to suck our collective dick.”
