Metallica pay tribute to Lemmy on four-year anniversary of his death

Metallica have paid homage to the late Motörhead frontman Ian Fraser “Lemmy” Kilmister on the fourth anniversary of his death.
The rockers have uploaded footage of Lemmy performing the Motörhead classic Too Late Too Late with them at a September 2009 concert in Nashville, Tennessee on Twitter.

Lemmy, who fronted and played bass in Motörhead, died on 28 December 2015 from prostate cancer and complications stemming from cardiac arrhythmia and congestive heart failure. He was 70.
Metallica previously paid tribute to Lemmy on the song Murder One, which mentions many of his song titles in the lyrics. The song appears on the band’s 2016 album, Hardwired… To Self-Destruct. Frontman James Hetfield has said that Murder One was named after Lemmy’s favourite live amp.
Hetfield has also referred to Lemmy as a “father figure” to Metallica. “Motörhead had a lot to do with Metallica sitting here right now,” Hetfield said during a Town Hall event at SiriusXM’s New York studios, as reported by Rolling Stone. “But just Lemmy as an entity, as kind of a father figure, he helped us a lot. He was unafraid. And he was a character. And he was himself. And we all respected that so much. He did his own thing to the last breath. No matter who you are, how could you not be inspired by that?”
