Metalheads: this sleek AF Cort guitar could be your new favourite affordable singlecut

South Korean guitar maker Cort has expanded its single-cut electric guitar lineup with the all-new CR300MT.
Focusing on “traditional material choice” and seemingly aimed squarely at metal players, the CR300MT features a solid mahogany body configured for “sustained resonance and low-end warmth”, finished in a luxurious Black Satin designed to highlight the “physical architecture of the guitar body without distraction”. Elsewhere, the guitar sports a multi-ply black-and-white binding around the perimeter of the body and headstock.

The CR300MT also features a mahogany set-neck – which helps transfer string vibrations across the whole instrument more effectively – as well as a 24.75” scale length, a Micarta fingerboard with 24 frets with a 12” radius and nickel-silver frets (because what modern metal machine is complete without 24 frets?) and a premium Graph Tech TUSQ nut.

Electronics come by way of a pair of active EMG humbuckers – the classic metal-ready pairing of an 81 in the bridge position and a 60 in the neck position – controlled via two separate volume and two separate tone knobs and a standard three-way toggle switch.

Finally, the guitar boasts Grover Rotomatic tuning machines for rock-solid tuning stability and precise micro-adjustments, and a Tune-O-Matic-style bridge paired with a secure stop tailpiece.
The CR300MT is available now, priced at $899.99.
