Also showcased are “beaten-up, barfly Telecasters thick with nicotine stains and battle scars from dive bars across America and catalogue guitars modified with mailbox stickers by eager kids in the ‘50s emulating the elaborate neck inlays of country heroes”.
Indeed, it’s not just guitars wielded by some of the most iconic guitarists in history that are showcased in The Guitar Chronicles; you’ll also feast your eyes on pawnshop classics plus even survivors of fires and tornadoes.
“These are instruments that inspired the artists you love, along with countless others who may not have been household names but helped shape the landscape of music in their own way,” Jane explains.
“I’m beyond thrilled with how this project turned out, the stories I’ve been able to tell, and all the beautiful new work I have to share.”

The book has even received praise from Gibson Director of Brand Experience Mark Agnesi, and Hollywood A-lister and bass guitar aficionado Jason Momoa.
“I love seeing these amazing guitars that are so life-worn, with all that mojo, through Eleanor’s eyes and lens. Beautiful,” says Momoa.
“Eleanor has a unique ability to tell stories through her photographs,” adds Agnesi.
The Guitar Chronicles will be available from 17 September. You can pre-order now from Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Waterstones, or your local bookseller.
