NAMM 2020: 10 guitar highlights from Day Two
NAMM 2020: Day Two of Winter NAMM 2020 has zipped by in a flurry of guitars, amps and pedals. Listed here are 10 highlights today, including an Eric Johnson signature Strat, a brand-new semi-hollow from Harmony and a performance by Jackie Venson.
Eric Johnson 1954 Virginia Stratocaster
Included in Fender Custom Shop’s massive offering for NAMM 2020 is a recreation of Eric Johnson’s iconic 1954 Virginia Stratocaster. According to Johnson, Fender Custom Shop’s use of sassafras for the body helped nail the tone of his original guitar.
Gretsch Electromatic Jet Baritone
Thanks to a resurgence of baritone guitars, Gretsch has decided to bolster its Electromatic line-up with the Jet Baritone seen above. It features a 29.75″ scale to provide players with flexibility in terms of sound.
Relish Trinity
The Relish Trinity is a single-cut dual-humbucker guitar that offers the Swiss brand’s pickup-selecting technology in a more conventional format – and more accessible price-point – than its Mary One.
Harmony Comet
The Harmony Comet is the brand’s first semi-hollow guitar since the brand’s resurrection in 2018. The new guitar is inspired by the 1960s Harmony H-72, and features a resonant double-cutaway mahogany body.
Jackson Rob Caggiano Signature Shadowcaster
Jackson‘s collaboration with Volbeat guitarist Rob Caggiano has finally landed. Based on the Outcaster silhouette, the guitar features an offset mahogany body paired with a bolt-on maple neck. The Shadowcaster is the guitarist’s first signature model with Jackson.
Gamechanger Audio Light Pedal
Known for its outrageous designs, Gamechanger Audio has unveiled yet another “eyebrow raiser”: a spring reverb tank with three actual springs. The pedal also uses infra-red technology and offers six analogue effects/modes.
ThorpyFX Field Marshal and Bunker
Adrian Thorpe has bolstered his stellar line-up with two more Dan Coggins collaborations: the Bunker and Field Marshal. The former is described as an “inter-modulation distortion” while the latter is a sharp-sounding fuzz with a unique tone/gate bypass.
Jackie Venson shredding
One of our favourite moments of NAMM 2020 so far has to be Jackie Venson swinging by the BandLab Technologies booth to show off her amazing chops.
Boss Acoustic Singer Live LT
The Acoustic Singer Live LT is Boss‘ latest addition to its Acoustic Singer Series. The new amplifier offers a sleek, streamlined look and minimalistic functionality.
Ernie Ball Music Man Sabre
