NAMM 2021: Vox previews new Giulietta, Mark III guitar models and more
NAMM 2021: Vox is staying true to its NAMM tradition of previewing new products in development by hosting a special Future Product Preview on its website.

Following yesterday’s announcement of new Bobcat models, it looks like the brand could be renewing its focus on electric guitar production this year. Here’s an early look at some new Giulietta electrics, as well as some surprising classics brought back to life.
Vox Giulietta VGA-5TD
Image: VoxThe Vox Giulietta VGA-5TD is an archtop acoustic-electric guitar that offers onboard digital modelling through the brand’s AREOS-D system. This lets players access not only a range of acoustic and electric guitar sounds, but synth sounds, built-in reverb and overdrive as well. The guitar will come in Natural/Gunmetal and Pearl Orange.
Vox Giuletta VGA-5TPS
Image: VoxSporting a similar design to the VGA-5TD, this model adopts a patent-pending hybrid wood/aluminium bridge as well as a Super Capacity Preamp System with piezo pickup. It also features a built-in Low Cut control for trimming unwanted low end. The Giulietta VGA-5TPS will come in a Pearl Rose and Pearl White finishes.
Vox Avena-1
Image: VoxThe Avena-1 is a modern take on the 60s Vox Apache – which is widely recognised for its speaker-in-body design. It has a built-in amplifier with four effects and a rhythm machine that covers 11 different genres. To combat feedback, the guitar also has its humbuckers wired with symmetrical coils. The Avena-1 will come in Metallic Red, Metallic Blue, and Metallic Orange finishes.
Vox Mark III Mini Guitar
Last but not least is the Vox Mark III Mini Guitar (pictured at the top of this post), based on the design of the iconic VOX teardrop shape and with an emphasis on portability. Despite the smaller size, the Mark III Mini Guitar has the same standard E tuning as a regular guitar. It equips a set of single coils and comes in three colours: Aqua Green, Lipstick Red and Marble.
Details are still scarce on when Vox’s new guitars will see the light of release day. Until then, we’ll be keeping an ear out for more details.
