Remember when we thought Greta Van Fleet were breaking up? Well, they’re not – and they’ve just announced new music
Panic is over for Greta Van Fleet fans, as they’ve just announced that a new album is on the way despite break-up rumours flooding the internet earlier this year.
Back in May, GVF posted a cryptic social media video thanking their fans for a “wild ride”, featuring clips of the band throughout their 14-year run. Shortly after, the Michigan quartet calmed speculation with a studio clip showing the members working on new material.
The band then went on to release a new single titled Play Your Games, and even performed at a one-off intimate show in New York City. Now, Greta Van Fleet have announced their fourth album Palace For The People, landing on 9 October 2026, and have already shared a new single Saw You Stand. It will mark their first album since 2023’s Starcatcher.

According to a press release (via Louder), the record’s title was inspired by famous London music and sports venue Alexandra Palace (aka Ally Pally), which they headlined in 2022.
“A friend explained that the elaborate grandeur of this Victorian-era ‘palace’, originally named ‘The Palace Of The People’, was created as a gathering place for the public,” a statement on the album explains.
“Unlike most lavish buildings of the time, this one wasn’t created for the Monarchs nor the wealthy aristocrats of the day, but for everyone to ‘escape and wonder’, a truly modern concept for the time. Fast forward to 2026, Greta Van Fleet began to wonder: what would a palace for the people mean today? And how do we get there?”
Guitarist Jake Kiszka describes it as a “very modern record”, despite it still being rock ‘n’ roll at its core, while drummer Danny Wagner states, “the minute the four of us step into a room with the shared goal of creating, there is very little that can stop us.”

“I can’t tell you how many people have come up to me and said, ‘This is my best friend. We met through your music or at your show.’ We realised, the music is our palace!” adds bassist/keyboardist Sam Kiszka.
Josh Kiszka continues, “We love each other just as much as ever, if not more, because we’ve got to spend quality time together off of the road. We’ve grown closer, and we have more to say and share than ever.”
