Robert Fripp and Toyah “take it to the extreme” with cover of The Prodigy’s Firestarter
King Crimson mastermind Robert Fripp and his wife Toyah have returned with a new video cover. This time, the couple say they’ve taken things “to the extreme” with a cover of The Prodigy’s 1996 electronic banger Firestarter.

As the latest instalment of the couple’s weekly Sunday Lunch series, the cover was uploaded to Toyah’s YouTube channel yesterday (9 May). A caption for it read: “The kitchen trio take it to the extreme this weekend – be warned!”
Watch it below:
Fripp and Toyah’s Sunday Lunch series launched last year at the height of COVID-19 lockdowns around the world. The duo spoke on the series back in March, with Fripp saying, “Performers have a responsibility to perform and at this particular time to keep people’s spirits up.”
He told Rolling Stone: “This is a very English cultural tradition. Essentially, when things are really bad in England, what you do is begin laughing and do silly things. A good reference point is the Ministry of Silly Walks on Monty Python. Now it’s, ‘Robert puts on a tutu and dances to Swan Lake at the river’s edge with his wife.’ So I have followed my wife’s sense and vision of these things.”
Last week (2 May), the couple shared a cover of Heart’s Barracuda. While the series initially started with just Fripp and Toyah, they’ve been joined weekly by a third member, guitarist Sidney Jake, since their March cover of ZZ Top’s Gimme All Your Lovin’.
