Ronnie James Dio’s 10th anniversary memorial gala to be held in February

The Ronnie James Dio Stand Up And Shout Cancer Fund has announced that it will commemorate the 10th anniversary of the singer’s passing with an Awards Gala on February 20, 2020.
The gala will take place at The Wiltern in Los Angeles and will recognise honourees who have contributed to either Dio’s legacy or that of the charity. The event will also feature a live auction, a major silent auction and a raffle, each comprising luxury items and entertainment memorabilia.
Eight awards will be presented on the night itself, each named after songs written by Dio: the Holy Diver award, Killing The Dragon award, King Of Rock ’N’ Roll award, Magica award, Master Of The Moon award, Rainbow In The Dark award, Sacred Heart award and the Stand Up And Shout award.
Honourees include label executives from Rhino Entertainment/Warner Music Group and BMG, Dio’s longtime recording engineer Wyn Davis and Jeff Pezzuti, the CEO of Eyellusion, the company that created the hologram for the Dio Returns! tour.
Dio’s live band DIO will perform at the event and will feature vocalists Tim ‘Ripper’ Owens and Oni Logan. Local band Sadie & The Tribe will also be taking the stage.
Tickets for the gala begin at $25. More information here.
