Sleep announce vinyl compiling non-album singles The Clarity and Leagues Beneath

In celebration of 4/20, stoner doom legends Sleep have announced two new vinyl releases: a remaster of their 2014 song The Clarity, done by Bob Weston, and a double-LP collecting The Clarity and 2018 non-album single Leagues Beneath.

The release follows the band’s tradition of surprise announcements on 20 April. In 2018, the band released The Sciences, their first album in 15 years, following the 2003 release of Dopesmoker. This itself was a remixed and expanded version of Jerusalem, the band’s hour-long song that bore such a troubled production they went on hiatus once it was released in its cut-down from in 1999.
The band reformed in 2009, initially with original drummer Chris Hakius. Once Hakius retired from music, however, they recruited Neurosis drummer Jason Roeder.

The new reissues arrive on Third Man Records, a label started by Jack White. Artist Dave Kloc provided the visuals for the new records, with a new painting for the 2LP, as well as a new etching for the B side of each new 12-inch disk.
The vinyls are available to order now. Find out more at thirdmanstore.com.
