Taylor expands The Ebony Project with 1,500 new trees in Cameroon
Taylor Guitars has bolstered The Ebony Project with 1,500 new West African ebony trees in Cameroon’s Congo Basin region.
This effort, according to Taylor, is the largest known planting of the species. It’s part of the Californian company’s wider conservation plans to plant 15,000 ebony trees by the end of 2020.
The actual planting process took place over several weeks this month. It was carried out by members from five Cameroonian communities, assisted by representatives from the Congo Basin Institute and Taylor Guitars.
