The new Blood Skull Berzerker from Wylde Audio has a fierce body shape that might just be a hardcore metalhead’s dream
Wylde Audio has released a brand new, rather lethal-looking guitar – the Blood Skull Berzerker.
Mirroring the power and attack within Zakk Wylde’s own playing, the design of this model is nothing short of bold and brutal. With a pointy body shape that’s reminiscent of a B.C. Rich Warlock (though a little more “out there”, we should add) and satin black hardware, it’s an axe that’s made to tackle heavy playing.

As a rock-ready guitar, it fittingly comes with a pair of Wylde-approved high-output EMG 81/85 active humbuckers, and has a mahogany body, a three-piece maple set-neck with custom “Zakk C” shape, and an ebony fretboard with 22 X-Jumbo frets and a 24.625” scale length.
The BloodSkull design is what it says on the tin – a rather haunting pattern of crimson skulls – but if that’s not to your liking, there is also the option of a trippy Corridors pattern instead. Take a closer look at both below:

Onboard there are also controls for neck volume, bridge volume, and master tone with a three-way pickup selector switch, as well as a TonePros T3BP TOM bridge with T1ZS tailpiece and Grover tuners, plus a Graph Tech Ivory TUSQ XL nut. However, if you’d like a sturdy case to store this pointy beast in, you will need to buy it separately.
Last year, Wylde explained why he loves EMG pickups in his guitars in a rig rundown with Premier Guitar. Noting a clear difference in clarity when playing with EMGs, he added, “When you think about it, the pickup is your microphone. When you’re singing out of a $12,000 Telefunken mic in the studio, you can hear the clarity of that thing, compared to a little mic you buy for $100. For me, that’s why I’ve always used EMGs.”
Fans attending the Pantera/Metallica M72 tour dates will have a chance to own played and signed versions of the Berzerker guitar as part of a VIP package, or you can buy it now from Wylde Audio via Schecter for $1,699.
