“The ultimate app for recording and jamming”: Fender Studio has arrived, bringing one-tap recording, authentic amp models and more
Following its acquisition of PreSonus in 2021, Fender is continuing its foray into the world of digital recording with Fender Studio, an all-new app for recording, jamming and capturing creativity “whenever it strikes”.
Essentially, Fender Studio is a free tool which offers one-tap recording, as well as a host of guitarist- and producer-friendly features like a range of amp sims, backing tracks and more. Think of it like a handier version of a voice notes app for musicians.

Available on iOS, Android, macOS, Windows and Linux, Fender Studio adds to the company’s existing digital app portfolio – which also includes Fender Play, Fender Tone and Fender Tune. All you need is an audio interface; the recently launched Fender Link I/O will work perfectly for those using Fender Studio on a smartphone, for example.
Said to share DNA with PreSonus Studio One, Fender Studio features one-tap recording – eliminating the hurdles between a creative spark and getting it recorded – as well as a range of authentic Fender amp and effects models, including the Fender Mustang and Rumble, ‘65 Twin Reverb and Rumble 800 v.3.
There’s also five FX pedals and an integrated tuner, and even six additional amps and effects upon registration for free with a Fender Connect account.
In addition, the app comes loaded with 20 professionally recorded, fully editable jam tracks – ranging in styles from pop ballads right the way through to metal. Each track is a complete multitrack audio session, with options to transpose, mute, solo, speed up or slow down individual parts.
You can also tweak and flavour your recordings with onboard compressor, EQ, reverb and delay, as well as vocal effects like a de-tuner, transformer, ring modulator and vocoder.
“I’ve always said to the team, anyone should be able to just hit a single button on their phone and be able to start recording,” says Fender CEO Andy Mooney. “We’ve built exactly that.

“We believe Fender Studio will enable more music creation than ever before by serving the needs of today’s creators and that will drive sustained growth for our company and our industry. I’m proud of what the team has created and can’t wait to hear what gets recorded in Fender Studio.”
“Fender Studio represents our continued commitment to providing players and musicians of all levels with great sounding, easy to use recording tools,” says Max Gutnik, EVP & GM of PreSonus, Jackson, Charvel, Gretsch and EVH Brands.
“Whether you are new to recording or a seasoned pro, Fender Studio delivers authentic Fender tones and intuitive editing capabilities to record, jam, create and inspire, for free. We are super-excited to release Fender Studio and hear all the amazing music it will help bring into the world!”
