Marshall amps up its home audio output with its first soundbar, the Heston 120

After 63 years of producing top-quality amps, speakers, and pedals, Marshall has made its foray into the world of soundbars. Geared towards both TV and music listening, the Heston 120 is a culmination of decades of sonic expertise to provide an “optimal audio experience”.
Equipped with Dolby Atmos and DTS-X, the Heston 120 is fully immersive and engineered to sound as authentic as possible. It’s also spatially aware, fitted with 11 drivers facing in different directions to fill every inch of your room with sound.

While the soundbar can be hooked up to your TV with a HDMI cable, it can also connect with your phone or music streaming services wirelessly via Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or Auracast. There’s also an analogue RCA input if you’re keen to hook up your vinyl or CD player.
The Heston 120 certainly looks the part, too. The soundbar looks like a stretched out Marshall amp, fitted with tactile knobs and the iconic Marshall logo branding in brushed gold.
The physical knobs and dials can be used to tweak bass, treble, or flick through playlists and radio stations. Though there’s also a new Marshall App, allowing you to control your volume and EQ without migrating from your sofa. The app also allows you to calibrate your room to asses the perfect acoustic settings.

“We know that soundbar owners use their soundbar to listen to music, yet most soundbars are not built for both music and TV,” Anders Olsson, Senior Product Manager at Marshall Group, explains. “This gave us a reason to exist and an opportunity to really shine with our legacy in music and audio.”
Marshall has worked with MTV and The Darkness to celebrate the launch. A special edition of MTV Cribs has just dropped, showcasing how the Heston 120 might look in your crib.
In its first episode since 2022, the MTV Cribs special sees Dan and Justin Hawkins welcoming viewers into their home. The episode will also see a special guest appearance from alt-rock duo Nova Twins, who are signed to Marshall Records.
“We had a blast inviting Marshall into our home,” Dan Hawkins reflects. “No one has ever seen where the Hawkins bros live – Justin and I are basically hermits, living in total silence (apart from when we listen to our majestic Marshall soundbars that fill every room). Our own families, not even our own children, have never set foot inside our mansion.”
“However, when the master manufacturers of rock and roll music devices since the 60’s knocked on our door we couldn’t exactly turn them away,” he says. “…as long as they took their off their shoes, of course.”
Heston 120 is available to pre-order now and will be on sale from June 3 for £899.99. It will also be available at select retailers from September 16.
