Semi-hollows are popular for good reason. You get that unmistakable warmth and resonance, but with the right pickups and some gain, they can also get surprisingly punchy and aggressive. That makes them a handy choice if you want one guitar that can cover a lot of ground.
That’s exactly what D’Angelico is going for with the Premier DC. It’s a double-cutaway semi-hollow with a 16-inch-wide laminated maple body and a solid centre block, giving it plenty of sustain while helping keep unwanted feedback under control when you turn things up.
The tonal flexibility continues with a pair of Seymour Duncan Designed humbuckers, which can cover everything from warm, jazzy cleans to searing distortion. They’re paired with a familiar two-volume, two-tone setup and three-way pickup selector, giving you plenty of control over your sound.
