Want a Radiohead reunion? Thom Yorke “doesn’t give a f**k”
When bassist Colin Greenwood recently revealed that Radiohead had held some rehearsals in the summer, speculation and excitement began to build among the band’s fanbase.
He didn’t give away much, and simply said: “We did some rehearsals about two months ago in London, just played the old songs, and it was really fun. I had a really good time.”

But frontman Thom Yorke has now come forth to kill any hopes of an imminent Radiohead reunion in any official capacity, telling Australian publication Double J he’s not aware of fan hype and that he doesn’t “really give a flying fuck”.
Yorke’s rationale behind his lack of interest in a Radiohead reunion lies in how the band’s individual members have earned the freedom to focus on their own projects.
“No offence to anyone and err, thanks for caring,” he says [per NME]. “But I think we’ve earned the right to do what makes sense to us without having to explain ourselves or be answerable to anyone else’s historical idea of what we should be doing.”
Yorke’s comments might not come as a surprise to Radiohead’s ardent followers; back in May, guitarist Jonny Greenwood told The Guardian that he and his bandmates were busy working on their own projects, and how he and Thom Yorke were touring with their side project The Smile.
He said at the time, “We’re still talking all the time, we just need to make a plan and get some time together sorted out in advance. I’ve never been very good at that. Too busy dicking around in this studio.”
In other news, The Smile released their third studio album Cutouts earlier this month. Listen to its opening track Foreign Spies below:
