Watch: AC/DC discuss the riffage, lyrics and massive tour prop of Hells Bells
The second episode of AC/DC’s microseries, The Story Of Back In Black has been released. This time, the band discuss the riffage and lyrics behind the rock classic, Hell’s Bells, as well as the massive bell prop that accompanied them on their tours. Take a look above.
The series was launched as part of Acca Dacca’s celebration uploads for Back In Black’s 40th anniversary this year. The first episode, which debuted last week, saw the band discuss the creation of You Shook Me All Night Long, their first single with frontman Brian Johnson, who replaced the late Bon Scott in 1980.
A rare archived performance of What Do You Do For Money Honey from 1981 was uploaded onto AC/DC’s official YouTube page last week. Its footage was shot at the Nihon Seinenkan Theatre in Tokyo, Japan, as part of the band’s first international tour with Johnson.
To get fans involved with the celebrations, the band have also asked for photo and video contributions via Instagram. Posts tagged with #backinblack40 will be pooled together onto a digital fan wall themed around Back In Black.
AC/DC’s last studio album, Rock Or Bust was released in 2014. However, due to the late Malcolm Young’s declining health at the time, the album’s rhythm guitar duties were instead taken on by his nephew Stevie Young.
Former Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider claimed in a Tweet last December that a new AC/DC record was in the making, and would feature guitar tracks recorded by the late Malcolm Young.
