Watch Travis Scott absolutely lose his s**t while watching John Mayer perform Neon live
We’re all John Mayer fans here at Guitar.com, but are any of us bigger fans than Travis Scott? After a viral video recently posted on TikTok, we’re not so sure…
The video in question was captured during Mayer’s recent performance at an intimate Formula 1 Grand Prix event in Las Vegas, and shows a relatively subdued crowd, that is except for one person in particular: A-list rap legend Travis Scott.

Bizarrely, it looks as though John Mayer is there to provide some background music for the event, with many attendees not even looking in his direction as he plays Neon, from his 2001 debut album Room For Squares.
Travis Scott is on hand to rescue the vibes, though, as he’s seen jumping energetically in the air and exclaiming, “I love you!” and “What the fuck!” – while fellow attendees look around in confusion.
The crowd’s underwhelming response to one of the greatest guitar players and songwriters performing before them isn’t lost on the comments section of the TikTok video, with one remarking: “Is this a corporate event? Why is everyone else acting like John Mayer isn’t on stage?”
“Why isn’t everyone acting like Travis?! That’s the real problem here!” says another, while another writes: “Valid reaction to john mayer tbh.”

While some attendees may have been bothered by Scott’s raucous antics during Mayer’s set, let’s face it, we’d all like a fan like the goosebumps singer to raise the energy while we perform, wouldn’t we?
In other news, John Mayer recently revealed he has written enough material to put together a new album, but explained why he’s not in a hurry to do so.
“I don’t know when it’s coming out,” he said regarding the followup to 2021’s Sob Rock. “But I’ve been going around making music, touring, making music, touring for a lot of years, and I think it would make sense at this stage in my life [to] just take a breather.”
