disconnected tone controls of my Axis's

I recently disconnected the tone pots of my Axis Sports and Super Sport. Before, I wasn’t getting the right tone out of them with volume rolled back. I started experimenting with bright caps or bright cap/resistor networks, and came up with something that just worked for me, not great, but it did the job.
Since I never use and never have used tone pots, I just gave it a go and disconnected them (and all the bright cap stuff) and – wow!, suddenly these guitars clean up like a charm. They get really transparent and sparkly.
Plus I think I can hear a little more clarity and sparkle when full up.
I guess this is how the Dimarzio custom wounds were intened to work, when being developed for the EvH guitar.

I absolutley love it and can’t but recommend this little mod to anyone who doesn’t use their tone pots.
