Finalizer Plus – Compressor Strange Behavior
Hello Folks!
Maybe I’m a novice with using mastering processors, but I am seeing some counter-intuitive behavior from the compressor from my TC Finalizer Plus unit:
I have an input hitting -18 db. Before I make any adjustments, I am seeing the output level is also -18 db. I go the compressor and adjust threshold to -25 db.
What I am seeing:
As I increase the compression ratio, the subsequent band levels (3 total bands) increase as well as the output gain even though the gain reduction is showing significant levels.
What I expect:
As I increase the compression ratio, the subsequent band levels remain at same position, the output gain is reduced by the amount indicated on the gain reduction indicator.
Am I missing something here?
