Heads up on mounting a Fishman Triple Play

Sadly, while it seems to be a great midi-synth device, it just doesn’t fit under the strings of the Majesty Monarchy. I’d have to raise the string height WAY too much, and that just isn’t an option as I love the action just the way it is. And forget using the tremolo bar, as pulling up lowers the string height even more.

They provide various base mounts to adhere to your guitar without damaging the finish to hold the pickup in place but even the thinnest one adds too much height. Without any base mount at all the pickup is actually a bit too low (they provide a ‘feeler’ gauge for adjusting the distance from pickup to strings.)

I thought about maybe a custom bracket like this: ] that would fit over the ends of the pickup, attached to the adjustment screws of the bridge pickup and the other end to the base of the bridge, but it would take some doing, and look like crap.

Guess I’ll relegate it to my Strat, which will also need string height re-adjustment but at least I won’t have to mess with the Monarchy.
