Impact Twin power on, FireWire link, question
In addition to my Impact Twin, I have a Saffire Pro 40. If the Pro 40 is powered on after the PC has booted, it immediately makes a FireWire connection and works as expected. However, if the Impact Twin is powered on after the PC, it will not make a FireWire connection unless I reboot the computer. Is this normal?
Given that they both use the TC DICE chips, I figured that they would behave similarly, but they don’t. One workaround I’ve found is to go into device manager and disable the 1394 controller, then re-enable it to get it to link to the Impact Twin.
