Is the shielding on an SR5 pickguard necessary?
Greetings. Just wanted to ask: My 1996 SR5 is being currently restored and we agreed on adding this beautiful transparent pickguard. Only thing I forgot was the shielding we can see beneath every opaque SR5 pickguard. Question: Is the shielding a sine qua non addition? I would love to simply add the transparent pguard that has been manufactured for me, but wanted to listen on your knowledge about what could happen if it is not added.
