Polytune 3 – help with alternate tunings
I just got my Polytune 3, but I’m struggling with the alternate tuning settings.
I have selected (example) one semitone down (Eb) – the display correctly confirms it is in Eb by flashing. Question is how do I correctly tune all strings to one semitone down? Polyphonic only works in EADGBE and if I pluck each string individually (needle or strobe mode) it will only show the actual tone for that string – not the desired one?
For example in Eb flat tuning, when I pluck the E 6th string, it shows it is perfectly tuned to E with the needle in the middle, whereas it should show it as sharp and therefore need to tune down to get to the reference frequency of Eb?
I was expecting each string to be quickly tuneable by reference to either its string number (6-1) or standard tuning frequency (EADGBE). If it only displays the actual note it is tuned at, then I see no use in the display mode at all as I have to know what each string should be tuned at for each alternate tuning selected?
I must be missing something obvious and hope someone can point that out to me?
