Question: Proper etiquette

Hello everyone! As this is my first post I wanted to get off on the right foot. Is it ok to contact another member to ask them if they’re willing to part with their bass? I realize that the owner would probably have posted it in the for sale thread but as I’m having trouble finding my dream Stingray I thought I might ask first. Thank you and have a bass day.
