Question: Screw holes in JP6 trem cavity, and pickups
I recently picked up a Nov 2009 JP6, unloaded. It’s an astoundingly good guitar, post set up, and appears as-new: frets are completely unworn, neck is totally clean with not a hint of grime, body is completely unblemished, trem blade is completely un-notched. Inside, solders appear original and everything is clean, However, there are a series of screw holes (5 or 6) under the trem springs, between the pickups. They don’t appear to form any pattern and there appears to be at least 2 different sizes of screw used. I initially thought they might have been the radio tag fitting from the factory, but the number of holes would rule that out. My only other guess is some sort of tremsetter product, but again, the number of holes appears excessive. It just seems odd to me that an otherwise untouched guitar would have been modded.
Any ideas? (i can post pictures in a couple of days if required).
A secondary question: the date of manufacture and tonal qualities would suggest I have the liquifire/crunchlab pickup combination. The only markings on the pickups are handwritten paper tags of P2 and P4. Does this sound right?
Thanks in advance for any help.
