Sterling Lk100D knock off's ?

I bought a Sterling Lk100D , because it was cheaper and was the Luke III version , when My Luke II needed fret work [ btw you can send your neck back to EBMM for refreting , I learned this the hard way after someone local ruined mine ] and after seeing a thread rave about them, I began to wonder if mine was a knock off ?
it was ok but not nearly as good as my Luke II , the sterling I have is heavy , the pick ups don’t seem to be anything special and the body is not the exact same as my Luke II

anyway to tell is it is fake ?
