Steve Morse pickup change

I have recently picked up a Y2D and while the playability is great I can’t get it to sound right. The bridge pickup sounds especially harsh, cold and hard edged. I’m thinking about changing the bridge pickup to something like a Duncan Custom Custom. Or does anybody have any recommendations? It all sucks a bit because the pickups are colour matched.
