Tips to keep music man majesty whammy bar from swaying?

Long story short, I lost the retention screw that’s supposed to keep my whammy bar in one spot. I eventually got a bag of the same screws. But now, even if I tighten the retention screw, the whammy bar still sways a bit. It makes it harder to do flutters because after I strike a note, I have to reach down to grab the whammy, instead of it being with it fingers reach.

I’ve tried wrapping Teflon tape at the base of the whammy, and while that worked for a little bit, the tape is too fragile…
