Valentine pickup swap question

I’m interested in grabbing a Valentine but I’m not a huge fan of bridge single coils and would want to swap out the stock pickup for something else (a BKP or Seymour Duncan, probably). I notice that the Valentines have three mounting screws on the pickup rings- can I do a straight swap for a standard humbucker or do they need different mounting tabs to fit in the Valentine rings?
