Backbone adds sustain to Fenders

Claimed to add sustain and improved tone to Telecasters and Stratocasters, the Backbone has arrived in the UK, courtesy of distributor Hand In Hand.

According to its manufacturer, the Backbone is pre-drilled to fit various models of Strats and Teles as a non-invasive fit. Essentially, it is an aluminium replacement for the neckplate, which extends down the back of a guitar to the string ferules on Telecasters and the tremolo claw on Stratocasters.

Hand in Hand says: ‘For anyone that doesn’t know, or hasn’t heard of Backbone, they make an amazing bolt on addition to a Fender Telecaster or Stratocaster, that makes the guitar sound like it has its own built in boost pedal. Backbone products really have to be tried to be believed.’
