Focusing solely on Patrick James Eggle’s historic acoustic body shapes, Faith Guitars’ PJE Legacy Series continues to set the benchmark for professional excellence. Handcrafted in extremely small numbers, the Limited-Edition PJE Legacy FG7 Earth offers discerning players the chance to own a genuinely unique and exceptional Faith guitar.
The Faith FG7 is built around Patrick James Eggle’s iconic ‘Earth’ body shape, renowned for its elegant proportions, superb balance, and refined playing comfort. At its heart, the guitar pairs a solid torrefied Sitka spruce top with solid American Claro Walnut back and sides – a combination both visually striking and tonally sophisticated.
Each spruce top undergoes a meticulous torrefaction process: carefully air-dried, then heated in a controlled, oxygen-reduced environment to remove excess moisture and enhance stability. This process produces a top that is more responsive and sonically mature, giving the FG7 a voice with enhanced projection, rich overtones, and the played-in character of a well-loved instrument decades its senior. The accompanying Claro Walnut back and sides provide clarity and balance, with controlled lows, focused mids, and radiant trebles, creating exceptional note definition and generous dynamic headroom.
Visually, the guitar is equally captivating. Its sunburst finish showcases rich reds and burnt oranges melting into warm yellows, beautifully highlighting the natural grain of the torrefied spruce. Premium appointments include solid high-figure flamed maple binding, a figured ebony pickguard, fingerboard, and bridge, with a bone nut, saddle, and bridge pins.
For amplified performance, the FG7 features Fishman’s latest Flex-T-Blend pickup and preamp system, blending undersaddle piezo clarity with internal condenser resonance for a true-to-acoustic amplified tone.
